Thanks Ian.I thought that some ground instruction followed by a solo flight might be a little much!!

ian , i as would others probably have one of your sport copters if i had the money, but alas, any way just to keep things in perspective with your trainer , what engine and rotor size are you using. i"m just interested as to the combination , there seems to be a fair amount of variant around, and you sound like you have a happy combination.

Hi Tony,The engine in my 2 seater is the EA81HP (or rally motor) with the factory twin carbs, claimed HP of 110 @6,000 RPM.

Adrian,Does it really take hundreds of hours building the kit? or was that a joke??

Dean,I believe the doco has been realy improved so I am not sure what the average build time would now be but I estimate that a first time builder using the lattest doco would probably assemble the kit and have it ready for checking by a TA and test flying in around 3 to 4 weeks weeks full time. This estimation would be based on no preassembly by the factory and the engine in the rotax box. Someone thats done it a few times before and had good experience setting up the 912 could probably do it in 2 + weeks full time.I suggest you speak to Ian as there have been quite a few brought in now with the revised doco and he should be able to give you some more accurate time based on builders feedback.

It seems amazing that it could possibly take that long. I must have pushed my builds out of my mind and forgotten what it"s like.
