Sorry for your misfortune Nick.I have herd of the rosco style nose wheels collapsing there suspension bush, and causing the wheel to jam against the keel before. As you say, lucky it didnt happen during takeoff. This is the main reason I beleive this type of nose wheel should be mounted low enougth so if the bush collapsed, or its bolt broke, the wheel would still clear the keel.Good luck with your re-build !!!Sam.Melbourne Vic.

Nick, I just re read your first post and 100 C is too hot, should be 90 max and with your new radiator set up the temp should have probably been back around 85C. Oil pressure looks a bit low too so the engine could well be a little sadder than you first thought. It does happen, I went through a couple of EA 81's but they had been treated with Slick 50 and gave me full revs right till I shut them down ! One engine, I flew it around for 15 minutes with no oil pressure and the temp gauge pegged to the stop !! Looking back one side , I could see steam coming from the overlow bottle and on the other side was smoke coming from the tappet cover breather so it wasnt a pretty sight and the motor sounded very raspy but it delived full revs till I shut it down on landing !!Boy, I have a Rosco nosewheel and I have given it the full treatment over the years and you should see some of the places I have had to get off from and it hasnt given any problems so far !!BrianPooncarie NSW

A comment from Paul pertaining to Rosco and no derogatory remarks about CLT, less safe Gyro's or the betterment of number one?My most humble apologies for any pointy remarks aimed at you in a previous post, but the years of your self adoration have left me with a biased opinion.I now understand that my preceptions are all wrong....sorry Paul, and good luck with your new life!Kindest regardsMark.

Please don't shoot me as the messenge.[]I now understand that my preceptions are all wrongNo Mark, only most of them.[]....sorry Paul, and good luck with your new life! Thanks Mark, I appreciate that.Kindest regards Ditto. Regards, Paul.Mark.Marcus and all. I have the greatest respect, and admiration, for what Rosco has achieved over the years. I use quite a few components from Rosco, and trust his workmanship completely. Most Rosco gyros are very HTLMs. What I always say is that all HTLMs, are far more unstable that a correctly set up gyro, depending on the thrust line to CofM offset. It aint rocket science if you want to learn and understand the priciples involved.Aussie Paul.[]www.firebirdgyros.com

Following on from Pauls comments on Rosco's workmanship, while Rosco's main line of gyros are HTLM's, he will build whatever type of gyro you wish [CLT, BLT,etc] with whatever motor you desire, whatever gearbox /prop /open frame /pod/ single / two seater or whatever you fancy !!!and he will test fly it as well AND provide after sales service AND has a incredible supply of Alloy of all sorts as well as ready to plug in, nosewheels, heads and various other items to many to mention PLUS he will mail or freight whatever you desire anytime !!!I dont apolagize for any of the above ramblings !!!BrianPooncarie NSW
