hello ross, it was actually the thomsen coupling that I was looking for when I found the other trainer videos. the thomsen video does not give enough explaination . but then he doesn"t want to either.

CV joints are fascinating things and I"ve bought and tried out quite a few different varieties. I started out with Polaris spherical outer CV joints which were nice and small and comparatively light, but ultimately unsuccessful because they were usually too tight and too stiff in their action. I then tried inboard tripod plunging joints which have a "looser" action, but their angular range won"t go beyond 24 to 26 degrees and they are usually quite "sloppy" in fit (see picture). I wanted something less clunky.You might be surprised to know that in the setup going into my single seater, I finished up using - after experimenting with about 10 alternatives
