I"ve just done some tests passing current through off cuts of carbon fibre and to my horror the material bursts abruply into flames. I can for-see in the future some thrillseeker gyronaut crusing along contented at a high altitude when a high current cable shorts out onto a carbon fibre panel creating a sudden flare and melting through a plastic fuel tank. I think one in that situation would experiance quite a rush knowing that thay were about to burn to death. I personally would feel better if I had a small harness on and a front mount bail out system. I"ve used a front mount parachute 45 yrs. ago and it was a case of just opening the pack and throwing it away from you. The parachute technology has gone a long way since than and I recon I could make one up that is so compact that you would not know you were wearing it. Besides they make a bloody good tent or bed when you"re on the ground.
