The best spot for Valiants and Holdens That"s right, the ford probably rusted away overnight and is at the bottom of the puddle

different photo if your interested. Thanks Ross . Yes, they were the days when the flying doctor had aircraft that could land / takeoff anywhere, a couple of hunded yards clear of obstacles was about all they needed, landing gear was near unbreakable & small holes etc

This happened at our place last year. Not bogged but still in a bit of trouble. Rolled over once, landed right way and skidded

That made a mess of the cab on that grader, very lucky operator !One of my worst busters was at near walking pace..........you hear that add " speed kills" what a load of rubbish! If that was true we should have dead jet pilots everywhere & no F1 drivers left

That would have been an exciting ride for the grader operator

Because of that notion that Speed Kills explains why some people drive Land Rovers.Graeme.And Fords?

I have seen a very bogged Land Rover too...unfortunately I haven"t a photo. Despite that being back in about 1975 when we had big rains, I still remember the old mans face as he walked the last few yards after a 10 K walk

It"s alway a punt, do you hold on or do you bail? In this case the operator walked away with barley a scratch. When she started to go he dropped on the deck of the cab and wrapped himself around the verticle shaft housing that drives the dog boxes and rode it all the way down. It"s hard to tell from the photo but it is a very steep hill, too steep to walk up, it was a hands and feet job to climb up and down to the grader from the top of the ridge where he was working. My old grader has never been the same since.
