  • Whatever happened to...???

I know that the purpose of submitting incident reports is so that we all learn from other`s mistakes. We all NEED to know.
I have often asked my fellow gyronuts `whatever happened to Phil Wright? What was the cause of his accident`
    Nobody can answer me.
Is there somewhere on our website where i can find out??

Hi Almar, I would contact Darren Hills who is the ASRA Safety manager. Email safetymanager@asra.org.au.

Please refresh my memory on his incident.

    Regards....Chook.

I heard that he was flying another guy’s gyro with him when a pin holding the tail sheared, after having been replaced 3 times already, but this time it was thinner and aluminium. That’s all I’ve heard. But that’s not official.

ASRA investigations into fatal gyro accidents are subjected by a gag order placed by the Coroners Court through the Police in the State in which the accident occurred. This order is automatically lifted after the Coroner has conducted an enquiry and released the findings of that enquiry.
ASRA cannot comment on the specifics of fatal accidents as a result.
If you want to try for more information on this accident, try the NSW Coroners Court or the Maitland Police. Good luck!

        Regards,
        Allan.
