"Back in 1990 while I was President of ASRA we achieved the ANO 95.12 .1 that allowed for legal dual place training"Hey Paul,That was good thinking, and a good story. You got what you wanted without confrontation. When you go in expecting to lose, your wish is granted. Bit like riding a mobike, concentrate on where you want to go, not on the pothole.Graham

Noise is a factor affecting many airports and operators, not only gyros are getting blamed.Confrontation is not the answer however, as frustrating as it might be. Gyros are noisy, some are just a bit noisier than others, trying to keep the revs down a little helps as the prop is a great noise maker. Ken Watson did some mods and he got his machine quieter. I think its essential to make the council aware of how much income it is getting out of your operations and why your operation is benefical to council.

I doubt they give a damn about money being made at the strip unless its the drag club ripping the strip up.I never start training before 8, on sat and sun it 9, finished before 5, so i think im being reasonable in the area.the machine is not too loud, even the other guys at the strip comment on how it is quiet, but every 6-8 minutes it gets to them i guess.anyways i got some daylight starts coming up again now so this will keep everyone happy, pity i know where most of the whingers live

Do you do circuits at 500 or 1000 ft AGL ? The pressure on some of the bigger airfields to be able to stay open is incredible, places like Essendon in Vic are under all sorts of pressure to close, mainly because councils etc realize the $$ that could be made by converting an airfield into housing blocks !! The nosie /safety arguments are only a smoke screen .

Just a little too subtle there Bone"s, I"m not sure old High in the Sky will get that.I remember way back when I was in primary school we had little girls that ran off to the teacher complaining about other kids, but I thought that was a young girlie thing??Graeme. ( you wont get a second apology )

"I am so sick of the frigging crap"Hey Bones,My son suggested I read "Predictably Irrational" by Dan Ariely . The hidden forces that shape our decisions. Small book easy read. I think I paid less than $20 landed, second hand. Well worth a look. We have an emotional brain and a rational brain. And the emotional one wins.It is to be expected that each promoter pushes his machine. Great, it gives me a chance to compare. And see great shots like four Xenons sitting in mint condition on tarmac. When you have a lot of $$ tied up in a venture like Xenon, you can start reading more into stuff than there is.Mate, I was a bit emotional when allegations were made in family court that I was sexually molesting my two year old son. Sent me down the path of discovery, big time. (Turns out such allegations are par for the courts. Makes the lawyers gleefull)Its good to get mad, because then you figure out how to win.Graham

I just can"t wait for the Air Show that is going to be held at the local strip here next year?? See if they handle the noise from that. But this strip is also the place where they hold the drag racing (straight down the strip) and they also have off road racing off to the side of the strip, should see the dust float from those suckers. This strip is also the place where there is a full time aircraft mechanic, test flying machines, there is flight training conducted here for fixed wings, there is now a helicopter mechanic where they also conduct test flights, licensing training and refreshers and there is a gliding club (true true, quiet sport that one). Also until last year sometime, the Air Force would also conduct night training missions for landing for Caribou"s faithfully once a week. I lived beside the strip during the time the airforce was doing this, pre-gyro life and never once complained as, hey I lived beside a strip, and no I was not made aware of that detail prior to moving in.I also now find myself a real estate agent (much to my own disgust) and I happily tell people "you realise there is an airport there and you will get noise" But that would only be because I have a personal interest in a business?? Which one? Gyro sales or real estate sales?? They are both the one company so I am confused with my own hypocrisy there.

Nd 1 other thing that came to my attention today, since i (?) am the dealer in a particular gyro make and some soft c*ck limp wristed a**, thinks that because Peg put a post up about the Xenon, we are promoting a particular type of machine, and we are the ONLY ones ever to do this on the forum(so i completely understand his standing), i will and i quote "They post comments about other makes and models, they compare and they should be stopped. Immediately." so just to please this whinging f*ck, i will stop.So Sam,Mitch and all the others you got the floor i wont comment any more.Yep if you guessed that was sarcasim you might be right.I am so sick of the frigging crap, so let the world be your oyster, and fly high in the skyBones I must have missed something. I dont have a clue what your on about.Mitch

Well Mitch as stated above i and Peg basically been gaged so you and Sam can talk about your machines as much as you like but we cant, so hook in while you can. really over itBones I"m not sure why your upset at me, all my discussions have been about safety, stability, and easy of flight. My KRUZA was only mentioned as an example of what I was trying to explain. I must admit I did get upset at some of your comments, but have decided to put that all behind. If I have upset you in any way, then please accept my apologies.I have never spoken negatively of the Xenon, and in fact I like it and would one day love to take one for a fang. I have always been of the opinion that we need as many pilots, instructors, importers, TA"s and manufactureres as possible here in OZ. Each one will help in their own way to promote and grow this great flying sport we all enjoy.Mate I"m very sorry to hear what is happening with you & your business re airport noise. I fully understand and feel for you & Peg. This happend to me at Kyenton airport in Vic. But moving to Mangalore was a blessing in disguise and the best thing that could have happend to me & RCA.Good luck

Bones and Peg,You both know how I feel about you two. Bones you have been a staunch friend of mine since before we actually met at Biggenden and I am saddened by your predicament with the airport noise shyte. I am also intensely aware of having to deal with tyre kickers and am at my wits end too. Mostly having to constantly explain the Allan Wardill Accident and repeatedly being told that there are TA"s out there and Instructors, who have stated they "think", "reckon" that the Monarch bunted into the Tamar River. There is absolutely no money in gyros from my point of view. My efforts to sell Purple Polish is so that I can keep my company business account ticking over to cover the accounts and ASIC which total about $700 each year.We copped noise complaints regularly at Cranbourne when Geoff Jamieson was alive and training out there. That happens everywhere.Even where I am now if I get to close to Greens Beach for to long the retirees there get all upity, so I restrict my visits to the built up areas.I dont advertise as you know. I dont try and push Butterfly"s to sell kits here in OZ or NZ, (I would have starved 5 years ago if that"s the case.)

Let me present my theory on this, judging by the quote in Bones" post.."They post comments about other makes and models, they compare and they should be stopped. Immediately." .. I would say some village idiot who does not have any balls made a recent official complaint about Pegs post way back from Nov last year to the admin instead of to the poster.Like you Sam and Mitch, posts were made about their product but this idiot with no balls did not like it. So if the Xenon dealers are gaged, then that leaves you two to post away till your hearts content.Maybe the comment about your polish Mitch was in reference to this same village idiot with no balls putting in an official complaint about my responce to another members post about PP.This is just a theory of mine and should in no way be taken as fact, except the bit about the village idiot with no balls.Graeme.
