  • Laszlo Borross passed away

I am very sad to inform all members that Laszlo Borross passed away last night at around 8 pm 30/7/2007.He has been fighting with cyrossis of the liver for only a few months , it was very rare form of cancer which was untreatable and most unusual as Laszlo was almost a non drinker. As a good friend of Laszlo I feel Laszlo was a guy that hardly anyone really got to know. When you did get to know him he was a very warm and sincere guy and a true friend who was always there for you if you needed him.Laszlo for those that don"t know him was a well respected C.F.I .He was the Australian rep for RAF2000 gyroplanes with over 3000 hrs

We all share his families immense loss as a husband/father and committed fellow aviator.I sincerely thank his family for his efforts in creating his brilliant Gyrocopter training manual. As is often the case with our busy lives, I failed to demonstrate my appreciation by sending him a letter or phoning just once to say thankyou for the impact your hard work has had on someone far away that you do not know.Years ago, I flew up to Broken Hill for a CASA run Mustering conference and was indelibly impressed with the considered words and demonstrated actions of Dave Jackson, Tim McClure and Ross Symes. They won"t remember me, but to these guys and indeed Laszlo and all those who have assisted my successfull path to Gyrocopter Pilot status including Kevin Traeger, Nick Spehr, Paul Bruty and our current president LLewella, I offer my deep thanks and gratitude. This of course extrapolates out to all contributors to the ASRA forum whose salient advice assists many.Whilst not suggesting or inferring any of the above are in ill health, the loss of Laszlo reminds me to say thankyou now to you all before a time hopefully very distant in the future when i can only tell your family how much you meant to me.RIP LaszloMike

I too feel sadened by the demise of Laszlo, we met and instantly became friends. We had differences which led to our freindship becoming rather tattered. However when these circumstances arise all I can think of at this time is that our thoughts (Alice & I) go out to the ones who are left behind and wish them a secure future.I had some great times with Laszlo, him as my instructor and in a social nature too. His Knowledge of gyro"s I regarded as being amonst the best, if only he would have shared it more I feel the whole gyro world would have benefitted. Behind his rather hard exterior was a warm kind hearted and funny man. He has left me with fond memories of my times spent with him, his family and friendsPeace be with you LaszloDave & Alice Pickard
