Joe,usually they"re "spoofing" email addresses, which means they take on false or borrow email addresses so any attempt to retaliate usually hits the wrong person. The best way is to see if you can find out from which URL they have logged in - their IP address and get in touch with the administrator - through [most usually] abuse@website.organisation_type.country.When I get spam and scam mails I make sure that I send a "source copy" of the email to the ISP in the "message ID" as revealed by the source code and ask them to kill the user... sooner or later it catches up with the Bot and shuts it down. So if I get a spam or scam email from a [say] gmail address I send a copy of the source of the email to "abuse@gmail.com", their webbie kills the user and you never get repeat emails from that scammer. If we all do it we damage the continued business of these scum and they give up, most usually due to flooding...Cheers,Nic.
