Yes!!! Please answer all questions to the best of your knowledge. INCLUDING your assessment of ASRA"s risk and safety management policies,(Or lack of) when your last safety audit(Biennial flight review) was and any other LACK of service ASRA provides. This is all about ASRA gaining more funds to administer gyro flying effectively.(More TA"s /Instructors/safety courses etc)

No, we are well aware of our deficiencies. If CASA want to take over the administration of gyro flying in Australia then go to it!!. They are (We think) finally coming to the understanding that they are getting a good deal paying us a pittance to do the job for them. For them to do what our volunteers do would cost the taxpayer probably 20 times what we get per year.

I dont think ASRA has too many deficiancies.I think things would be dun better if the quality people on the board were given a looser rein.ASRA is basically an organization running on the smell of an oily rag compared to our RAA Aus cousins, even the ballooning federation get better financial treatment than ASRA and we are doing our best to get this situation changed and it will change thanks to the efforts of those "quality " volunteers that are working tirelessly to bring about change. So this survey is important to fill in and return as is are things like the hours flown annually, we need each and everyone to do this as at the moment, the hours flown is pathetic compared to what is actually happening out there and if we want to advance, then please help us by taking a few minutes of your time to do it !!I believe that the membership re renewal

Filled in mine but not too sure if it went through. We"ve just gone onto the activ8 satellite and keep loosing the connection. You blokes on the asra board are between a rock and a hard place. A lot has been done but a long way to go and you"re not getting paid for it. I don"t bother much with rules and regulations but I"ve got a daughter and what looks to be a future daughter in law who are both dead keen on flying. I think of asra looking after their safety and I get on the forum and do a bit of **** stirring. There was a recomendation back in 2005 that asra be given more funding so I hope it comes through now. Peter.

Seems we are all on the same channel so hopefully they will take notice and give us the funds that we require to better ourselfs. One of my biggest worries that i raised was that if there is to be a mustering endorsment that we ASRA are given the opportunity to oversee it, as i would hate to see what so many have strived to achieve go into the world of CASA. Brian, thinking about your post. Some of these flying hours may not have been conducted according to the letter of the law in regards hire or reward. If somebody kept a record of all these bad deeds and sent them in it would give the gyro accident record a good polish up and give flying hours a considerable boost but might bring on a few problems for anyone doing that.

Gidday All,Murray, Paul and I attended a preliminary meeting with the Risk Management consultants commissioned by CASA some time ago. All Associations are being treated in the same way. We were appraised of the survey and the question was put to the Board. The Board agreed (correctly in my view) to provide a list of members with email addresses who had agreed to release such information from the ASRA database. Hence the survey. A follow up meeting was supposed to be held late last month but we are still waiting. I expect it will happen after the survey results are collated. As an aside, for the question about "commercial operations", I answered "yes" because it didn"t specify if these were in gyros or in GA aircraft.Re Mustering: There is no interim agreement as yet. Mustering was due to be covered under the new CASR Part 103. Unfortunately, internal workings within CASA have seen that legislation put on the back burner. In the interim, CAOs 92.12 and 95.12.1 were supposed to be amended to give coverage to mustering in the same way as CASR part 103 would do, as well as address some other discriminatory and prejudiced
