Hey Allan,Would this course be open to some of us that are just getting back into flying and building. Could be a good source of correct construction techniques for people contemplating building or modifing thier machines. This knowledge could help take the pressure off your existing TA"s and reduce re-work due to mistakes which would only come to light when the machine is periodically inspected by the TA. The old days of bolt in on and hope for the best are hopefully, long gone. (Was good for adrenaline rush"s though)RegardsCrash

Gidday Guys,Been away earning a dollar. The course will most likely be Fri/Sat and 1/2 Sun. Towards the end of May is looking likely at this time. The course is open to anyone, but we would like to see at least some who attend sit the online exam, pass it and become qualified. Current TAs who need a refresher are most welcome. The basic pre-requisites are that the candidate will have:Been an ASRA member for at least 12 months;Satisfactorily built or rebuilt more than one gyro;Adequate mechanical knowledge; andLiteracy skills (computer literacy an advantage).Regards,Allan.

Thanks Tony,On line from home, multi choice answers, time allowed about 3 hrs I think from memory. It"s enough if you know most of the stuff or where to look it up. Last weekend in May is looking good. You"re pencilled in.Regards,Allan.

What a pity people who don"t have internet access or who don"t use this site are not informed about things like this! There may be many members who would be interested if they were informed that a course was being offered. Why are non-internet users being discriminated against? The Gyro News magazine that we pay for in our annual membership fees is supposed to go to all members to keep them abreast of the happenings in the Association.

The next Gyro news will be in the mail this Monday. This particular TA course was almost full before it was even advertised.Members had already made inquires so it wasn"t long before we had a full school. There is ALWAYS an open invitation to organize people from your area to attend a course.. All we need are ten or so attendees to make it viable.
