Having had a think about this amendment:1 f. immediately prior to the issue of an ASRA Pilot Certificate, complete a flight check with an ASRA instructor other than theperson who completed the majority of the student"s training;Seem like a bit of a **** up if ya ask me wouldnt of it been more beneficial if it was prior to solo?

Hello Graeme,I thought that perhaps one of the board or opps manager would come on and explain how it came about(they probably still will), Instead of just sending an email and finding out i thought i would of been more beneficial for all of us to know than just finding out for only myself.CheersTrent

Hi TrentI believe ASRA is simply aligning its self with RAA and creating uniformity which is what CASA would no dought want to happen. This new addition would also help to check and confirm that the new pilot has met the min required standard from a neutral and second prospective. Could also be a blessing for an instructor should he ever end up in court. The only negative is it will require one additional flight and possible travel for the student before signed off.Regards SamL..................
