In conjunction with the AIP SUP, the following information is provided in order to assist pilots with aircraft operations in the vicinity of Temora, and with aircraft operations on the ground. (Please also refer to the Operations Map) INBOUND TO TEMORA:Firstly, Temora is a CERTIFIED airport. This requires that all aircraft wishing to operate into or in the vicinity of Temora be equipped with a serviceable VHF radio capable of two-way communications.Along with the regulatory requirements, here are a few tips on making life easier for yourself and everyone else. Please ensure that you are tracking at hemispherical levels when tracking to Temora. This will assist in separation of those heading in the opposite direction. Remember between 0º and 179º VFR cruising levels of ODD thousands + 500FT; between 180º and 359º EVEN thousands +500FT Ensure you change to Temora CTAF frequency of 126.15MHZ before you get to 10NM so that you can monitor traffic before making your 10NM inbound call. (Please check that you are on the right frequency, Temora is not a standard CTAF frequency) KALFOA, which stands for Keep A Lookout For Other Aircraft. A large amount of traffic is expected to be inbound to Temora over the NATFLY period. This traffic will range in cruise speeds from 45KT to 150+KT. Please keep a good eye out for those slower (enjoying the extra time in the air) in front of you. Remember that most people don’t have eyes in the back of their heads. There will be a UNICOM service operating on the CTAF frequency during the busy periods of aircraft movements. This is NOT AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL, it is an advisory service only and it is up to you as Pilot in Command to see and avoid other aircraft and keep minimum separation. Be aware that there may be Powered Parachutes operating below 500FT in an area immediately West of RWY 18/36. Their operations should not affect normal circuit procedures and they will be remaining clear of the active circuit and runways. Once on the ground and CLEAR of the runway, then please change to frequency 129.9MHZ. Please ensure you have taxied clear of the runway before changing frequencies - last year we had numerous aircraft change frequencies before they were clear of the ACTIVE runway. VERY IMPORTANT NOTE:Please be aware that this year the threshold of runway 36 will be displaced to a position abeam taxiway E. If RWY 36 is the active runway, DO NOT land before the displaced threshold. Please refer to current NOTAMS and the map. With the displaced threshold, RWY 18/36 will be reduced from 1468M to approximately 1000M.Back to topON THE GROUND AT TEMORA:Please refer to the Operations Map.COLOUR CODED PARKING AREAS: this year has seen a slight change to the parking and camping areas. In this booklet you will find FOUR COLOUR CODED pages: GREEN YELLOW BLUE and RED. GREEN is for underwing camping or camping WITH your aircraft.YELLOW parking is for static display and/or if you want your aircraft judged for an award or trophy. This is NOT for camping with your aircraft (you may be camping in the camp-ground for example or staying in a motel etc).BLUE is for long term parking (i.e. more than one day) where you are NOT camping with your aircraft and you DON’T want to have your aircraft judged or on display.RED is for Day parking only, i.e. you are flying out again the same day as you arrived. If possible we would like you to display the appropriate coloured page where it can be seen by Ground Marshals as you taxi (on your dashboard or similar, or hold it up). This will enable the marshals to be aware of where you would like to park without the necessity of radio contact or the marshals approaching an aircraft with a Live Propeller. You will notice that FOLLOW ME vehicles/motor bikes will also be displaying appropriately coloured panels. This will make it easier for you to follow the appropriate FOLLOW ME vehicle to your parking. If you refer to your Operations Map you will see where the Follow Me vehicles will be located along with the Ground Control. This is at the intersection of RWY 18/36 and taxiway C. Once landed and clear of the runway, taxi towards this point until picked up by marshals. There will be clearly mowed taxiways where it will be possible to taxi parallel to runways once you have landed. The taxiway parallel and to the South of RWY 09/27 may not be available depending on runway clearance requirements and ground conditions. These additional taxiways have been made available during NATFLY to minimise runway occupancy. Please refer to the maps on this page.If you now refer to the Operations Map you will see taxiways marked C, D, E, & F. TWY E will not be available during NATFLY.IF YOU ARE INTENDING ON CAMPING AT TEMORA with your aircraft, there are several areas available for this. The extension of TWY C is the first area that will be available for underwing camping, marked on the map in GREEN.Once this area is full then we will move onto the area to the North of RWY 09/27 also marked GREEN. ALL OF THE CAMPING AREAS WILL BE ENGINE OFF AREAS, NO TURNING PROPELLERS EXCEPT WITH DIRECT MARSHAL ESCORT IN CERTAIN AREAS. If you are camped in the area beside the sealed taxi way on the southern end of TWY C, it will be possible to taxi along the taxiway with GROUND MARSHAL ESCORT ONLY. Please arrange with ground marshals for escort. Alternatively you can manhandle your aircraft outside the camping area before starting engines. All other camping areas require that you manhandle your aircraft outside the marked camping area before starting engines.IF YOU ARE STAYING BUT NOT CAMPING WITH YOUR AIRCRAFT, then please display the appropriate coloured card (YELLOW or BLUE). We would like to be able to keep the underwing camping areas for people who are camping with their aircraft, due to limited space and easy access to facilities.Once your aircraft has been secured, please attend RA-Aus Temora HQ (located in a hangar on TXY E, refer to your map) to register. This is for SAR purposes and so that if anyone is looking for you we know you are on the ground. Secondly it will enable you to pay your camping fee if you are camping onsite and have not pre-paid online.Back to topDay Visits to NATFLY.If you are staying for just one day - please ensure that you display the RED card when you land where it can be seen by Ground Marshals as you taxi (on your dashboard or similar, or hold it up). This will enable the marshals to be aware of where you would like to park without the necessity of radio contact or the marshals approaching an aircraft with a Live Propeller.LOCAL FLIGHTS DURING NATFLY.If you would like to go for a fly during the period of Natfly, then please attend the pilot briefings held every morning from Thursday 21st April til Sunday 24th April in the forum Hangar J at 0800 hrs local time. Unless operationally required, all circuits must be in accordance with relevant CARs and local procedures. NO low level circuits by aircraft with a normal cruise speed in excess of 55KT. It is expected that numerous slow moving fixed-wing aircraft and rotorcraft will be conducting 500FT circuits in accordance with standard traffic circuit (refer CAAP 166.1.(0) paragraph 4.3 and AIP ENR 1.1 47.5) Be aware that there will be numerous aircraft operating within the vicinity of Temora during the Natfly period. Extra care should be taken and KALFOA. Keep radio transmissions to a minimum, no aircraft to aircraft chat unless to avoid a collis
ion. If you miss the pilot briefing please attend at RA-Aus HQ for any relevant information regarding flight operations for the day.Back to topDEPARTURES.Once again there is expected to be high number of aircraft movements in and around the Temora area over the period of Natfly. Please pay particular attention to radio transmissions and KALFOA. It is expected that a large number of aircraft will depart on Sunday so please be extra vigilant on your outbound track for other aircraft. Please remain on the CTAF frequency (126.15MHZ) until you are clear of the vicinity of the Temora CTAF (10NM) to ensure you are aware of any inbound traffic. If you have any other questions about operations at Natfly Temora, and you cannot find the answer on this page, in the RA-Aus magazine or from briefing material available from Airservices Australia, then please contact either:Mick Poole phone 0400 280 087 or email Zane Tully phone 0428 282 870 or email We look forward to seeing you at Natfly!
