Each state hosts the Nationals in rotation, once every seven years but if one state declines when it is their turn it is passed to the next state in rotation. At least that way everybody gets to see a Nationals up close and personal in their own backyard and spreads the traveling costs. Also shows the sport to a lot of people who are not going to travel around the country to see it.Yea Bugsy.......have been sayin the same thing for years. It's the way it is coz it's been that way since Noah floated the ark, and "THEY" like it that way.Last years event at Alice was a success, but probably the one and only time it ventures away from the southern areas only.Your point about other non flyers not getting a hands on showing etc, except if they go interstate is valid. I know for a fact, that if the word got out, that the event was up here Darwin, or ANYWHERE else that it has never been before, you would have the punters lining up to get in. They know about these flying machines, want to see the different types, styles etc etc, and seeing them in numbers at a site would be so benificial to us and the sport. So mate don't hold your breath, you will have better success pissin in the wind.[V]Just my view.........RussRDC PS.....why only 3 days, "easter" geez, for a lot of guys, 2-3 days driving, 3 days at a strip, 2-3 days getin back home, isn't that appealing, hence 20-30 machines each time approx. Why not maybe 5-10 days. If we had a longer time at the site, then the organisers could prearrange places to go, as in flyin there as a group, overniters etc, they know their areas, we don't, so showcase them to us. Mate we spend more time on the road, than we do flyin. So let's make it a flying holiday etc, not a mad dash there, and back again.I reckin we would all bust our boilers to go to that style of event, I would anyway, no matter where it was......even tazy[]If the event were to be up ear.....I'd do it that way regardless....Russ
