  • 3rd Party Insurance coverage for Gyro's

Gents, After many teleconferences , meetings etc I have managed to convince an Aviation insurance broker and QBE(the underwriters) to provide 3rd party liability insurance for gyro’s so we can legally comply with the requirements of many airfield leases and shire/ govt strips. This is public liability only for events caused by your gyro plumenting out of the sky and causing damage, crops, fires etc. This doesn’t cover your passenger if you have a 2 seat aircraft. This is the first time we have been able to obtain a 3rd party insurance for all classes of gyro’s separate from a full hull insurance policy since ASRA ceased providing coverage 6+ years ago. Coverage $2 million, covers all private and business operations within a radius of 500 nautical miles from home base for approx $450 pa. The radius can be modified for special trips etc at additional cost. Mustering operations are covered! Provider

Great effort! Thank you. I currently have a policy combined with 3rd party, passenger and hull cover which I hear may not be offered in another year. This is great. Can we have passenger too please?

Nice Job,will it cover smashing somebody"s aircraft with spinning rotors etc while on the ground? or will it only cover "plumenting"?Is this something they will look at from an every member taking this up point of view and provide it cheaper? Will it cover environmental cleanup and all that crap? What I"m getting at is will it cover us from all angles up to the $2m?Any policy wording available? or should we just call the number provided?ThanksDean
