  • .Keith Holmes Little Wing.

Hello All. I regret to announce that Keith Holmes will not be rebuilding his Little Wing Autogyro that was damaged on landing some months ago. After much thought Keith feels that he dosn't have the energy or inspiration to start again. He remains quote "Overwhelmed by the generosity of the gyro movement and will never forget their support"Keith has instructed that all money collected be returned and to this end Llewella will start this process in the next week or so.Thank you to all that donated or pledged money, materials or help in any way.[]

Murray,Regret probably wouldn't sum it up in any shape. What does he need - somebody to kick him off or is money an ongoing issue? Surely with a mob of blokes on the job to give it a nudge along he could be inspired again...For now I will refuse that my donation be returned to me, it was given with the intent that Kieth get into the air, let it be so.Cheers,Nick.

Murray,I would ask with all due respect for you to do an in depth excavation for the 'why' of Kieth's decision. Is it because he's seen that a design can go wrong, due to variations from the manufacturer's design? Is it because it seems that a rebuild will take too long to recover? Is it because the money could be used on something more pressing?Or,Is it because he could see his own mortality unfolding before his eyes?If it is this latter term, then maybe he should consider the likes of Ken Wallis, whose flying does keep him young, certainly something I aspire to do.Sorry to be a pain, but I want the 'nitty gritty'.Cheers,Nick.

Nick, This forum is not the place for the nitty gritty. Please show Keith some form of respect. If you need to contact Kieth, Llewella will provide his email address.Ross B

Well said ,Ross. Keith has his own mind & his own life ( something you are lacking NNPW ) , if he has made a decision then respect that.

Well it is sad that Kieth wont be rebuilding.I think that I would be in the same boat if I had to start over again building such a tedious project. As for my donation, if you can find someone else that mite could use it plaese see they get it. It was givin to help out.RegardsSonnyIntelligence is not a privilege,it is a gift and should be used for the good of mankind.

Just to let you blokes know, I will be travelling up to see Keith Holmes at Christmass time and will be bringing the remains of the green gecko back with me. I will be rebuilding his gyro back here at my place.Sadly the way things happened it destroyed Keiths dreams of flying gyros. We have learnt a lot from this incident and plan to use this knowledge in the future.I have also learnt a lot about the people of ASRA and others here on the forum, thankyou very much. There is one person whos praises I will never sing again. I believe if you are to say sorry and put things right this also means to make restitution.Anyway, the little wing will fly again, it may take awhile to gather the bits and finances, but it will fly.I will keep you posted, but I guess others will have their tractors flying befor me.Graeme Monro

Graeme,Well done and best of luck on the project.I intend to make pemanent welding jigs for the frames when I start building in February, you'll be more than welcome to use any of them as you require.I'd also be willing to help out at a possible working bee weekend if that was appropriate.cheersArt SpinkGyroNews Editor
