Do I use bad language Birdy? Can you point out any of my posts in which I used bad language? What I'm concerned about is an apparent attempt to delete posts from this forum which have alluded to another Australian forum. I'm more than happy to debate this issue with you David, but you need to stay on topic to retain any relevance.Ted

Ah hem, cough, cough..I thought this was a forum for gyro pilots to communicate with each other... about gyros and piloting technique. If it is part of your gyro piloting technique to use bad language as Birdy does, heaven knows he can't spell 'anything correctly', then I think your language should be allowed on the forum.. what I mean is that if the pilot has technique, and his language is part of that technique, then the technique should be allowed on the forum, just so long as it is spelt correctly..Regards,Nick.

Didn't know you had a problem post'n ere Ted?No, can't say i'v ever read anything you'v posted that'd be offencive, but then i do have a head like a siv.Don't know anythn bout them sorta posts be'n scraped either. I'm only a SCG remember. If you hadn't noticed Mr. fly, I'v pulled me head in with the language, i found out how far i could push poor ol Baz and accepted the ump's decision.[ btw, you'd be horrified to hear wots said when i am flyn.]My humblest appoligies for me spelln fly, but you need not worry, wot you can't understand coz of me spelln is only wot i'm say'n, so your not missn anythn.Back to topic.Ignorance is bliss............but only till you realise you were. You can always get the answer you want, if you ask enough experts.

Birdy, I don't have a problem with what your posting, and anybody having a crack at you about your spelling is simply blowing bubbles in their own bath water. So Nick you'd better pull the plug because your water is off. I'm not against the occasional hidden expletive being used as well, its just the fact that once you go into the wide world you are always going to find that somewhere somebody is going to offer an opinion that you don't agree with or dislike. If todays actions are based on what's on another web site then you indeed have a censorship issue. Common sense will tell you that you need to be transperant with the forum. So much so that the disenting voice of opinion needs to be heard else you have only one line of thinking being allowed to prevail.Barry isn't the sole judge of what is right or wrong here since he is simply just one member of the association. There have been instances in the past where Barry has been less than even handed. A number of ASRA members have alluded to me that they believe that what happened in relation to Bones wasn't quite fair. However I had hoped that this was in the past but alas it doesn't seem so. I can reassure that that while he continues to be a little unbalanced in his approach I will be very vocal. Now Barry can kick me off the web site ( should he not like what I say), and should that happen then I will raise this issue with the board.

The Forum editorial policy is not designed to be a "big brother" control but rather a method by which a moderator can delete a post if he considered it to breach guidelines. Our forum is accessed through the ASRA Web Site and as such a window to the world, not just our local chat group. What is said directly impacts on ASRA and the ASRA membership. I for one would not wish to be known to the rest of the gyro world as one of those crude XXXXXX's that frequent and accept the style of postings on the Aussie Forum, should the forum become a free for all.In the USA they thought they solved this problem by the PRA severing all ties with the USA forum, leaving the members to say what they liked against each other and against the PRA (which then came in for a lot of abuse for not controling the content and bowing to the posters wishes.Seems that your wrong if you have some control over the content and wrong if you don't. The intention is not to delete all "expletive" posts, but to give the moderator that option. Using expletives directly to denigrade another person is definately out, while that same expletive used as "expression" in the context of a story may be acceptable. There is no intention to gag members for supplying good healthy gyroplane related discussion, which, after all, is the reason for this forum.Tim McClure

Tim, Thank you for your input. I'm not on about having some form of control, its more to do with the style being applied by the web site administrator. I'm asking that the board ensures that Barry goes about his tasks even handed, without bias, and instead of being reactionary, starts to do his job without bias. To date this has not necessarily been evident.Ted
