  • Llewella's Workload can be reduced...

I'm putting this up as a suggestion for all to think of, it has probably already been said but I'll say it again.Having looked at all the forms that get filled in and processed by Llewella there must be a hell of alot of time that goes into doing it by Llewella, which I am most certainly grateful of, and am sure everyone else is.My proposal is to make all the ASRA paperwork pertaining to our activities such that it can be remotely entered by the person concerned. By way of example the most popular form of all - gyro registration. As I understand it we have a data base with the details of our gyros on it. When you wish to register your gyro you simply log in and fill out the details and could even pay using the net to do so. The idea is similar to a post here including photographs of the gyro, this should make it easier for all concerned, if it is a re-registration then the details from last year could be inserted by default.Of course those people who don't have access to the net continue to register via the mailing system. Hopefully this would reduce Llewella's work to 50% of what it was. Mind you, Barry's workload could well be doubled..:-)Now to the floor for comments...Nicholas TomlinAlarmist - www.alarmist.com.au - we scare for you

Nick, this proposition is a good one and is currently being looked at. Ultimately all forms and exams will be done on line but it does take a bit of setting up. A trial run has been done with a Technical Advisor exam and it worked well.Gyroplane registration is very time expensive and would be a good place to start. Our biggest problem currently is the large number of Technical Advisors that are signing off incomplete forms, meaning that all forms have to be double checked and then a letter has to be sent back or a phone call has to be made to complete the rego. It also means that the offending T/A's are not even checking the forms, let alone the Gyros, before endorsing the rego's). This is very labour intensive for something that should be so simple. A letter to T/A's some time ago had little effect in correcting the problem.Having T/A's fill in the form on line would fix this problem because the computer would not accept an incomplete form. This would certainly make our hard working Secretary's job easier.Tim McClureBroken Hill
