Looking at my current CASA instrument it states that permission was subject to eight conditions. The seventh item reads:-7. The gyroplane must not be operated over 5000' AMSL Do I understand correctly that we can now join the wider aviation community and subject to the usual class G requirements, and armed with the new endorsement, the 5000' restriction will be GONE? That's the way I read it Dave. This makes it the same as u/lights above 5000'. Under 5000' u/lights don't have to carry radio unless entering an MBZ, the same as GA. Not that I want to be anywhere without radio!!!! I know the old "see and be seen" rule is great BUT backed up by radio is better.I love flying at Nelson in NZ. Nelson is a controlled aerodrome, the 4th busiest in NZ, and you just do what you are told by the tower and they maintain the separation, BUT it costs $!!!!!Aussie Paul.[]www.firebirdgyros.com
