Thanks Allan, a simple inexpensive stub axle failure is usually a very expensive failure.Aussie Paul.

OK Smarty pants...I"ll admit the chance of failure anywhere else is slim,,,, but,Consider Birdy"s incident where he is driving his gyro down the road [he thought he was on his bike..] - by this I mean 4" off the ground and he runs over a kangaroo - well, sort of..., the axle stub breaks..Consider Brian from Pooncarie herding his goats and he runs one of them over or clips a branch in the process...I"m sure you can add to this...Cheers,Nick.

;D ;D :P...I knew what you meant, I couldn"t help myself , sorry.Yes, it would not have been good just before liftoff!!I have often lined a dingo up with the wheels but have never been quite game enough to hit the dingo in case Rosco"s landing gear isn"t as strong as it looks. [Trying to get a license for a handgun but boy, its very difficult]ThanksBrian

Brian, I tried much the same thing with a fox earlier in the year with my PPC. Only thing is I was not looking far enough ahead and flew smack into the boundary fence. Boy those sudden stops are something to experience.

Brian,A friend of mine goes pig shooting, he has a hand gun as a mandatory back-stop. Its a bit hard to swing a rifle in a shrubbery when you"ve got a big oinker trying to buss yo" ass, hence the 9.0 mm Ruger side arm.You could do it the easy way and use your 10.80 mm lamb tongue ... probably more likely to work and less likely to miss.Cheers,Nick.

Its a 320 k round trip to the closest town.Yeah, 10.80 doesnt miss but its not easy to carry in a gyro and particularly if you have a bingle out in the middle of pig or dog country and have to spend the night out in the scrub.Had some blokes staying here that only had knives to hunt oinkers with, I was desperately hoping that a big oinker would come our way but not to be. Big brave me had a 223 self loading at the ready in case they didnt stop the pig. [before gun laws]

The rifle is a 12.7mm (.50 cal) Accuracy International AW50 Anti Materiel Rifle (AMR), and the launcher is a Carl Gustav.
