I think the Repco ones came in 1.5 to3lbs and 3 to 6lbs. I bought the lower one. Another thing I tried was a subaru pump with a fuel regulator which is variable from 1 to 9 lbs. This was o.k. aswell although the distance and height it pumped made a difference. I measured the pressure using a tubeless car valve cut to fit in the fuel line( pulled off the carb and kept at the same height) and measured with a low pressure tyre gauge. This gives you a reasonably accurate measurement at the correct height. The square gold pumps come in different pressures also. I reckon the soob pump with the reg is the best option because my mechanic mates reckon they have never replaced one on a car. I think the reg was $46 at Autopro. The best thing is you can vary the pressure to get it right at the carb. The pressure indications on the reg are not accurate so it is worthwile measuring it. Also where you put the reg affects it. just a thought but why can't the carby be setup underneath the motor and draw fuel by gravity.is it because the atomised fuel in the enriched air dosen't flow upwards to the motor. has any one looked at this possablity???? not to sure if it will suit all types of motors it is just a concept for smarter people than myself to perfect if possable.maybe the creation of a new intake manifold is to hard to do.it could also stop flooding of the motor if the needle and seat have issues??just a thoughtsmithyinventions come frompeople who don't know anyBETTER.!!

G'day Smithy. The Idea would work fine but in my opinion you are creating a fix for a problem that dose't exist. If your needle and seat has issues, then it should be fixed before flight no matter where the carby is.Tim McClure

Jason,You'll find that the old Rolls Royce engines have their carby on the underside, Wal Flaks has one on his Gyro, and it can still have mixture problems, not necessarily flooding though.Cheers,Nick.
