Subaru twin carb

ANyone made one of these go better. Was thinking of shaveing a bit off the head, getting a good head job, and maybe a different cam. Is there a better one available for this engine. Tighs do one for standard ea81. All info appreciated. Ken

The twin carbs go well as they are, but a bit off the heads and a mild cam will still improve it. Ivan Tighe can do a cam for you but be sure to give him the Twin Carb cam and remind him that the valving is reversed to a standard cam.Tim McClure

does any one know if you can fit sub4 heads to a twin carb suby if this can be done how many dollars for the headsw drewery

Yes you can, but then you have to organise inlet manifolds to suit sub4 heads.The guy to speak to is Dave Stubberfield at Bundaberg Qld ( Stubbs Engineering ) he markets these engines.RDC

I think their heads also come with their own camshaft, essential for the best performance from the heads. This means that you have to split the engine to install the cam. I believe the price is fairly iffy also. Like Russell said, ask Stubby at 0741534743Tim McClure

I'm getting my heads and cam done at the moment. They said the difference will be noticeable, especially torque. Will let you know once its done and cost. Ken
