Hi all, I am new to forums and Gyro"s so please don"t tear my throat out at least not until my second post. I am trying to find anyone that has had a Simonini engine or is familiar with them that may be able to shed some light on their performance, I believe that Gyroz were offering them or Hirth as a choice, I have sent Gyroz an email from their web address but have never received a reply, so now I am appealing to your collective minds. My interest is that I want to consider the Simonini Victor Super 110hp as an alternative to the Rotax 582 or the 912 in my Sportcopter Vortex which is about to be shipped from America. If anyone is interested the Simonini web site is www.simonini-flying.com thankyou

Pinky,I have some experience with Simonini aircraft engines through helping the owner of one in a GYRO OZ gyro based here in WA. Thrust comparisons suggest that the "100"hp is not real. Also the build quality is not up to Rotax standard. The one here in the west had to be sent back to the factory for a new crankcase due to casting defects. That said the local rep and factory support were good.I also have a reasonable amount of experience with most Hirth and Rotax aircraft engines so am confident in saying that Rotax beats them all on reliability and delivering real HP with a great power to weight ratio. If you want any more details please don"t hesitate to call me.My 10c worth based on exposure to just one Simonini Victor.AdrianMob 0427094552
