I will ring around tomorrow for some weights , but the ones I have seen are a basic looking all alloy engine , the weight would have to be a lot less than an EA 81 or EJ 22 , & like Ken ( far-Ken-likethesoundofthat) said , go fast performance parts are easily available ( though I dont know why you would want to hot up 215 hp!) I might be barking up the wrong tree , but these engines are high tech & seem to fit the reqirements . EchoX

And they have got really nice engine mounts and nice cushdrive setups. 2nd hand they are near impossible to sell and they loose a lot of value. But why not buy a new one, put the engine back in and sell as a new looking one with only 500hrs on it. Atleast it can't fall out of the water. What about the 750 Yamaha in a single seater. Only great minds think alike mate. Ken

Bob Jumeau had one of these for an experiment before he decided to stop stuffing around and (I think) bought a new rotax.80 hp out of an engine near the same size as a 503, awesome! The problem with his was that it had a problem, he couldn't get it apart for some reason, seized with corrosion or what ever, hence the new rotax.Good luck with it if you go there.Cheers,Nick.

Chainsaw Bob? OK....sounds like a good bloke(?) I found a motor in QLD ...150hp twin cylinder 2-stroke near new, weighs in about 35 kgs out of a Polaris jet ski. Fitting a redrive would be fairly easy for a good engineer. The cooling system is self contained , meaning river or sea water doesnt run thru the block.X

Hi Echo,One of the guys at work down here (Melb) has the 1500cc Sea-do jet skis you mention, I've asked him to get some specs from his mechanic re weight etc. His motor is supercharged and reckons there is a race version that has dyno sheets showing 330 hp.....Yikes...cheers,...Art...

G'day Art, long time no hear - partly my fault. 330hp...I reckon that would just about be enough! As Ken said new jet skis drop in value as soon as you pay for it so are a good buy second hand. My phone is 02 6573 1206 , ring with your number & I will ring back. EricX

Aint a helluva lot of snowmobiles around these parts - plenty of jet skis, but. Good one ,Benny, it seems there is a lot of high HP engines about if you look.See that Proair gyro has a Suzuki donk in it, be interesting to find out what redrive etc.
