Hi all does anybody know if the ea82 flywheel is compatable with the ea81 motor having a bit of trouble sourcing an 81 flywheel at the moment.I have been experimenting with a lightening the flywheel for those that are considering the same thing here is what i found.Ea 81 with twin su type carbs standard block, pistons, etc. larger intake and exhaust valves than original, 2 inch v shaped homemade exhaust. jack shaft through donut to Hirth Box.1/

I had some info stored away on a memory stick about soob flywheels, Miles Fox Subaru web site is where it come from if you want to google it. It says an EA82 fly wheel will fit a EA-81 but you need to use the EA-81 bolts and modify the bell housing slightly. Hope that helpsRob

Thanks robhad a look at the site you recommended but couldnt find any reference to it. sounds like it may be worth trying the 82 f /wheel. Thanks againregardgreg

I had an EA81 flywheel, It may still be in the scrap bin at work, I can get it on Wednesday.You are welcome to have it. Just pay post.I have removed the ring gear though.Carl
