When I changed from the 582 to the 618 I added 4% to the empty weight of my trainer BUT gained 15% more power. The 618 would have been nice for that Oz mini 500. Actually I recommended the 618 to him and I believe he ordered one BUT decided to fly the underpowered 500 that day instead of taking the gyro!!!!Aussie Paul.

Paul, Dennis wrote that the 618 didn"t fit and that it gained more by going PEP. The 618 would have had the same hover problems as the 582.Anyway after getting some more feedback from Dennis it seems the PEP was a very specific fix for helicopter opps NOT an overall improvement for prop powered flight.
