My Hirth 2706 engine is missing the E Box (I think). It"s pretty old and any help appreciated.

Hoges, good luck with that. You just know that the module is sitting in an old ice cream container on a shelf in someones shed somewhere.I don"t know how (as an electronics tech I get a lot of interesting faults) but I am currently involved with the ignition electronics of a Hirth engine on a Gyroz.I will place an article on here after I have it sorted but long story short the ECM was mounted with the main plug upwards and open to the weather (read moisture).The owner has written to the Germans and they don"t manufacture that module any more. They do have a replacement but have not come back with details or price.I notice that your coils are also mounted with the connections facing upward. :Regards.........Chook.
