Ok,Explain to me then why a bloke builds a gyro, tests it on a trailer for an hour, gives it to another bloke for an hour to fly and then sells it?Is this a psycological issue sickjam fruck or what?

Well let me ponder[] I know[] This person likes to build gyros for others to enjoy[] Do we ask why Henry Ford built the model T or the General built the F.J. Who really cares I[^]

Simple Nick,Why ask me, why not ask the seller. Wouldn't that be the intelligent thing to do here, instead of beating around taking stabs in the dark. Unless you have more information than us your making blind assumptions.Tony, put the poor bugger out of his misery will you!Safe Flying ... ding Good judgment comes from experience and experience comes from bad judgment

NickFor your information the gyro was on the trailer running in the engine for 1 hour. Nick i dont know how you run your engines in!but this is how i did mine. The machine is an excellent flying machine! the reason why im selling the machine is to get away from small minded people like yourself! Which seems to be a small part of a disease in the gyro scene. I am moving on to something else. Perhaps maybe you should post a photo of your gyro so that we can see your great workmanship or perhaps you are not skilled with the capabilities of building one yourself!

Hey Tony, dont fall for the trap Nick sets you. Sure, he's as subtle as a bull in a china shop and I argued with him for a start but underneath the veneer is a genuine great guy full of information and knowledge, sure, some of his gyro knowledge might not be as good as it will be as he gets a few years older and he jumps in pretty quick, probably a bit too quick sometimes.I might be wrong but I see this forum as much more than just a gyro forum, its topics are fairly diverse and and there are a lot of members that are specialists in a their field and their knowledge is a great thing for those of us who need to know something. I know If I need any plumbing information that Nick would be the first person I would ask for help !!! Sorry to hear that you think that about the gyro community as the ones I know are all a great bunch of blokes and gal.Brian

Bob,So wrong, let me put you straight - I'm always in the siht.Tony,You did well, it's a nice finish and is well presented, it just goes begging as to why you're selling it so new, so unused. I'm just thinking out loud for anyone else who might come along and look at it, it will be one of the questions in their mind and if you don't have an answer you could jeopardise the sale, if you think I'm small minded wait until you meet some of your prospective buyers, ie, tyre kickers. As to the disease, yes, I suffer CLT, always frothing at the mouth with it and Linux, almost like rabies it is, careful I don't bite anyone, they might get infected, Scott Hogan might be able to confirm this. You can look at my machine on the 'EA-81 Douglas Redrive' Thread if you want to, though I've only modified it for the redrive. I've no problems with the idea of building a gyro, I am also a mechanical engineer - via TAFE. The machine I have is rough, my figuring is that there is no point making it flash until I've got about 100 hours up, then I might have some confidence that I won't bend it - my usual history is that if I get something nice and shiny it usually gets trashed in short time, solution - don't get anything shiny and new. (Experience from motor bike days - usually prang it at 50 to 80 hours or the six week syndrome.)Brian,What trap? I try to be nice to people, I try to help people, but my efforts sometimes go unrewarded, maybe if I started charging people might appreciate the value of it, I should stop being altruistic. But I appreciate your vouching for me, thank you.Cheers,Nick.
