Gentlemen,I am reluctantly offering the gyro above for sale.It is damaged but has the following features:EA 81 Subaru Engine - 4 cylinder 4 Stroke 1800 cc [new valve push rod and performance assessment is required] with weber carbRic Douglas 'Gyrobits' Redrive - 2.2:1 ratio with electric start'Oddessy' start batteryJack Allen Hub Bars - to suit JA blades to 23'10 and 25'6" [existing blades are damaged and deemed to be unservicable]Rolling frame - needs repairs to nose wheel assembly due to failure of certain elements in its construction [being repaired at present and anti-servo bolt being fitted].40 Litre seat tank including level indicator [fuel and indicator tubing renewed 2 mths ago]Instruments including ASI, VSI, Altimeter, Tacho, Temp, Pressure, Rotor Tach, Air Temp, Hobbs Hour Meter [330hrs approx], all instruments have connection to a filtered power supply.Twin 44m exhaust including mufflersPurpose built trailer with registration until 21st May 2006See the following links:http://www.asra.org.au/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=855a rough comparison:http://www.asra.org.au/forum/topic.a..._ID=1756Flight configuration is centre line thrust with horizontal stab, 5005 Alum. Alloy fully struted and braced. Fibreglass rudder and fin.To get into the air with this machine it will cost you about $4k in rebuilds, to replace the propeller, rotor blades and repair the engine, note that this is an estimate only, you will have to check over the whole frame for any work at any component, I expect you will need to spend $9k to go flying.G2066 is on offer for sale because I know I can't raise the funds myself to do it in the short term, and I don't want it to rot in the back yard waiting for me to do something with it, that would be a total waste of a really good machine. For a flight evaluation from an independent pilot contact Ross Bannerman via this forum - aka RossBSo, if you want to go flying, have a spare $5,000.00 floating around, and a further $4k to get it in the air and the time to do the work, you may ring me. I will warn that anyone making a lesser offer will be rebuked in a most unceremonious fashion, you may *not* ring me if you do not have such funds, bargain hunters are most unwelcome. This is not a decision I have come to lightly, as I would dearly love to restore it myself and go flying in it again, however, things moving in other than gyro land have influenced this matter in a most unkind way..My contact details are:Phone: 0418 811 953email - neast@tac.com.auNicholas TomlinAlarmist - www.alarmist.com.au - we scare for you

My first thought was to say - " Snap out of it Nic ! Fix the ******* . " However , if you have other things happening then its not for me tell you what you should do. Any time I have a spare seat you're welcome to come up - the plan is to fly to the Nats next year. All the best.

Eric,Thanks for your kind offer, I appreciate both it and your respect.Yes, I'd like to fix the *******, but the problem is the $4k. I know I'll be kicking myself quite hard when I do because of what I'll be letting go, my little freedom machine. My misfortune is that it is a sink or swim situation, if I try to fix it I sink, at this moment there are too many curly things happening and I can't afford the time or the money to do it.Please, don't anyone offer to do it for me, I'll only feel guilty about it and I think in all honesty my **** needs a damn good kick to put all my other issues right, I plan to put things right in my house and then get back into flying again, but I know given current circumstance that the 'Flaxinator' will be a wasted piece of trash through the waiting alone, I don't want that to happen as I'm sure it will take a few years before I get things right again, I couldn't bear to see it go like my bike did, unattended for years, sold for a song and then trashed by someone who didn't give a rats about it. If you're thinking it, I don't have any fear of flying, health issues or marital problems, merely financial issues which are controllable but teetering on the brink of being a problem, if I take my finger off the pulse and fail to concentrate then it will be shot duck, repairing the gyro has to fall to a low priority against my other potential problems, the repair costs would be the straw that breaks the camel's back if I go that way. Thanks,Nicholas TomlinAlarmist - www.alarmist.com.au - we scare for you

Well, to anybody who was thinking of it and didn't act - you missed a bargain! I'm taking G2066 off the market at $5k.Some good news at last:I went and saw [chainsaw] Bob Jumeau who flies at the same club as I last week end. He took one look at the blades and said they should be repairable.. subject to an inspection by Jack Allen who manufactured them. I spoke with Jack and he said that the blades can take a hell of a beating before they are marginalised. It would appear that the skins being crinkled may be the thing that is holding the blades out of shape at present. The magnitude of the bend on the worst blade is: bowed back 1/2" and down 3/4". It would appear this is within the range of bowing that can be encountered on the spars fresh out of the extruder, and it seems that they have to be straightened before the skins are mounted on them and bonded into position.. sounds hopeful and I'll be checking it out with Jack this week end.Mr Horan, you said you have a selection of push rods... would you have one of 231 mm length? The nose wheel should be easy to fix, it needs a bracket made up - this time in steel.Looking a little brighter..Nicholas TomlinAlarmist - www.alarmist.com.au - we scare for you
