    Rafgyro,Are these legal in Australia. I feel that if someone accidentally selects FM, it would inhibit communication and there would be a major aviation safety issue to any other aircraft around the frequency.

      These units are NOT made in China !! - they have FAA and CAA Approval. Your need a radio operators licence to use them, the same as ANY Airband transceiver - the are plug compatible to ICOM units
