  • Headed to Philippines

Will be headed to work for a year in the Philippines for a year or more and wanted to find out if any of our fellow pilots know the Gyro rules for that particular country?

The Philippines consists of over 7,100 islands with a total combined area of one fifth of the area of Queensland, and contains around 84 Million people. This makes the population 100 times as dense as OZ. Plenty of mountains and people leaves little room for gyroplanes except may be on the offical airfields, but don,t know if that is allowed. However, during the 3 visits I have made there, on one occasion I saw an ultralight flying close along the edge of the coast line at less than 100 feet high. There is very little (if any) open space areas like OZ, so be prepared to land in a rice patty, if available, when you have an engine out. A gyro on floats may be a possibility. Happy flying, Skydozer
