I wounder if we could impose upon the webmaster to delete the irrelevant junkmail as it shows up on the ASRA forum and also black-ban any further postings from those addresses. I realise that this wont stop it but surely it must help.

The current version of this forum lets you have a confirmation email and makes you pick out the letters from an image. Surely that would guard against bots.

Surely that would guard against bots.It"s quite a while since I looked at SMF.However the ASRA forums are running three versions behind the current one.1.Before I can upgrade, I must make sure that we have first and foremost a backup of the current one (just in case)2. test the upgrade on an alternate system just to make sure it will go smoothly.That will take a short while as I have to fit this in between other work and of course it just got busy at work in the last few days which is Murphy"s law, however it should not be far away.In the meantime I"ll add some ban rules based on "IP addresses" or "user name" or both to stop the recurring posts from the same users / IP addresses.That should help for the short term.
