Im not sure, but isnt there a bit of a problem with using avgas in a subie because of the lead affecting the O2 sensor? Ive never been game to try it just in case the computer chucks a wobbly because it thinks there is a problem with the fuel mixture.I would love a reply because it would be nice to be able to run on avgas and not have to rely on a ground crew.

Yea adrian..........that"s the intended. Couple of stop points have bitumen strips, right at front door. All i need to do now is ring the fuel carter co, and tell them how much to drop off at each point. ....( drums only )The 2 guys that cart way out that way, were only to pleased to help out, even came up with alternative ideas, etc etc...........Next prob.........sort a light / compact drum pump.........let"s seeQuery...........if the battery shytes itself.......flat.........can you hand start a CFI engine ???.......this is my only weak link, they give no notice if they guna cack it....( shudup russy........think positive.........no probs guna occur ) ;DHey Davo.........mentioned to one guy over that way, that i sorta knew you, and you might be passin over too at some time.........all went silent, the only noise i then heard was him cockin his 12 guage............got me buggered. Today has been a good day............have sourced me fuels/ stopovers for the WA legs, the easy bit is the Qld bit.Last 2 days ringin around has payed off big time. The legs are all easily managable.........longest leg 4.5hrs max And finding spots to drop into for a pee etc shouldn"t be a prob either...........bleedin long road/ track, goes east / west, be real handy. No need

This sounds like the trip of a lifetime. Reckon I might make an effort to go, just a few things to do first like get my licence and debating whether to trust a 2 banger rotax to cross a continent LOL.Could even coax the missus to be ground crew if I get her a good enough chrissy present. (Now I"m really dreaming)I reckon Ian Morecombe did the west to east crossing abput a dozen years ago in a 2 banger. Cheers
