  • The passing of Phil Sammut

It is with much regret, and saddness that I report the untimely passing of a good friend Phil Sammut. While I dont have many details, I understand that Phil passed away unexpectedly last weekend at his home in Spence.A genuinely nice guy, he helped me into the gyro community. He was an avid flyer, known by many, which is why I have posted this message. The one thing I will probably remember most about Phil is his demenour. I dont think I ever saw him without a smile on his face, particularly when flying. A happy fun loving friendly guy who had all the time in the world for others. I will miss him.Regards,L.Magner

It certainly is a surprise to hear this, having only just met the man a short while ago, I purchased one of his gyros. He was a good bloke and certainly couldn't help me enough on my trip to Canberra. My condolences to his family, mates and fellow flyers.Safe Flying ... ding Insanity is hereditory, you get it from your kids!
