Muz, wake up, your in the new Oz, where cheap is the new quality, no matter wot the actual quality.Stupid ozys payn peanuts for crap not worth the shells from seatshop countries thinkn they are getn a good deal. Not supprisen actual quality costs so much. The country is over run with crap shops, super cheap, K mart, bunnings, mad harrys, mackers......... If you NEED quality, its hard to find a shop still traden these days in this country, that hasnt been squeezed out by the crap traders, coz friged strayins dont want quality, they want cheap. Then wen the crap craps itself, they ***** n wine they gota replace it so soon.Wen your the only one left in town tradn quality, you can charge wotver you like. But the old ruel still applies, you get wot you pay for.

New 912ULS a shade over 20k + gst. Add around 2k + gst for the extras needed if it is a new install. As Tony indicated, 25 to 26K inclusive will get you flying including a few non Rotax bits like the prop and battery. You will find this is pretty consistent with pricing around the rest of the world. Rotax keep pretty tight control and regularly adjust pricing in markets to account for currency and prevent big differentials that would encourage grey imports between any markets.Floods cop a lot of flack but it is mostly not warranted. They may not have the sharpest pencil in the business, but they are generally in the ballpark when compared to other markets. Bear in mind that Australia is a **** ant sized market and the factory does not afford the same discounts to them as their prized high volume distributors in the States. Don"t ask how I know this. I for one like to have my parts delivered overnight on a phone call, and if the low volumes/market circumstances mean I pay a modest premium to the local distributor, so be it. Way better than not having a local supplier. This doesn"t mean I give them carte blanche either. If you think you are being gouged, tell the man. I do. Find some common ground. There are some items sold as Rotax parts that obviously aren"t and it is quite okay to go down to your local "gyro" supplies store to buy them at market rates.Miles

Most times the shop they bought it from no longer exists or has changed it"s name and sells green ones, not yellow, red, blue, pink or whatever came in the last container. I can still buy parts for Listers that are over 40 years old. Still green too. They also don"t take into account the lost chillers of product, no cold beer in the camp and the rush trips to town each time either. Miles
