  • Robinson heli rotors issues

The FAA has finally come up with an AD re the delaminating robbo stainless skinned rotor blades... so in the next 5 years, there will be thousands of robbo rotors on the market.... I know that Chuck Beaty has used robbo rotors before, I wonder if we could use them? Yes they have delamination issues, but powered rotors which have cyclic (individual) twisting and collective pitch changes.... and the rotors being powered by a thumping great engine would cop a hard time, much harder than always autorotating on a less than 600Kg gyro and the rotors just see sawing(teetering)? We could just keep doing the preflight, visual inspections and "tap tests" recommended by Robinson. Has anyone used Robbo rotors here in Aus with success?http://www.verticalmag.com/news/article/FAAwillrequirereplacementofcertainRobinsonmainroto rbladeshttp://rgl.faa.gov/Regulatory_and_Guidance_Library/rgAD.nsf/0/1c99426cc73ec86886257da5004f4e10/$FILE/2014-23-16.pdf

I doubt that any one will get their hands on these blades.
