Gidday All,A friendly reminder to all who are planning on flying at the Nationals. Please ensure that you are a current financial member of ASRA, your BFR is current, your medical is valid and your gyro is properly registered for 2014.If your BFR is not current, please ensure you complete a renewal before the event or speak to an instructor at the event before you fly.We have been warned that CASA is increasing their ramp checks on RAAOs and it can be expected that CASA may be in attendance for that purpose. It is important therefore that you carry a copy of your current pilot certificate and medical with you at all times when flying at the event. I"ll try to get a copy of the CASA checklist for ramp checks and post here. Forewarned is forearmed.Regards,Allan Wardill

Thanks Allan.Ok some questions on ramp checks."Are you carrying the appropriate, current charts and documents? Are they easily accessible?"

Just wondering whether having some of these documents loaded on your ipad is acceptable or does it have to be hard copies? Might have to throw the missus out and carry all of the necessary paperwork instead......I also am not sure how you make this documentation easily accessible in an open cockpit gyro!!!!!

Gday all, sorry I can"t make it Darrell, working need some $$$$. So that there"s a minimum of stress and the fly-in goes well, here"s the drum. Just make sure the documentation (ramp check stuff) is all good. CASA represtentative will be there so I reckon we might as well do the right thing. Have a good weekend, enjoy our sport to the max.Danny Camel
