mmmm. free education. my kids grew up on distance ed and that was free because my wife didn"t get paid for it. I talked the kids into going to boarding school for the last 2 years to get a look at a different life and I had to take up flying to pay for their free education. I then had to do more flying to pay the gst on their free education. But although it seemed to be pissing down on me at times, that was alright because little johnny was saving for a rainy day. Now kevs givin it to the the people where its raining bullets and bombs. Pays not to have a tv or radio or newspaper or life can get depressing.

Its called, "popular politics"!We [Australia] are looked upon as a wealthy nation, and as such the government get a continual requests for aid etc etc and someone then makes a decision. Of course, it depends on where this money is to go probably more so than the amount as many overseas governments are extremely corrupt and I know that in many cases, the money and aid finishes up in the wrong hands. A number of years ago we gave Indonesia some $52 mill and they went and bought a few top line Soviet fighters that can engage and shoot down a FA18 long before our FA 18 can engage so I wonder if I"m a bit cynical about where this 20 mill will finish up ?? in Hamas"s hands ?? to buy a ew more long range rockets to fire on Israel once they back on their feet!!

I now ask people who are critisizing who they voted for. Some dont seem to answer honestly. Others who do, I simply tell them cop it on the chin because the vote was the decision they made. At the moment I dont think anyone I have met voted for this Govt. Popular politics cater for the dumb sheep. Those sheep that break from the mob are smart afterall. Take that into account next time you muster. Socialist politics is popular with those who like something for nothing; but they forget or dont realise that the nothing is fugging the whole country. Ken

Hello Ken, when Hanson was about, the big parties made some quick changes because they werent going the direction a lot of people wanted them to go. Thats about the only time I"ve voted. Once they got rid of Hanson they went back to the same old tricks and I went back to just filling in the bit of paper at election time so I didn"t have to pay a fine. Sheep dont break from the mob. they all run the same direction because they think everyone else knows where there going. Cattle and goats are a different story though.

The point I was making in that last post is that for awhile there was an alternative to the main parties.
