RussI"ve been using my SPOT for the last couple of weeks, 35hrs 3100kms, and it is fantastic. Also fully waterproof( so maybe Al could use one) and works well, just turn it on and it only takes about 5 minutes to get the message sent.( The instructions say 20 minutes but it only takes 5??)For those of you who fly to remote locations this is well worth a look.Ross B

Dean.........i"ll jump in.......ross will probably follow upYou compile the message, you select to whom it goes. Alternatevely you can elect to send it to their mobile ph.All done by the push of 1 button.Or.................you push another button, and it sends an emergency signal to the search and rescue dept. This signal goes for several days, locates you to about 5 metres. They can also plot your course on a pewtar.........start to end. It"s about the size of a pak of cigs...............brilliant little gizmo
If you aim for nothing, you'll hit it every time

I"ve been doing some other testing of my SPOT, and it is a good product. It takes about one minute from the time you turn on to get a message to your email and text message contacts.Tested it while driving in the car at 100km/hr. with SPOT sitting on the dash board.Ross B
