I"m thinking of using a 40" sea container as a hangar for my gyro but am a bit concerned as to how hot it will get inside. Summer here can get temps 40+ deg Celsius. Can extreme heat damage anything on a gyro? Anyone else used a container as a hangar? Cheers,Bruce.

If possible cover it with dirt up the sides and over the top. Failing that, its amazing what a simple fly-over can do. It keeps the direct sunlight off, but allows the air to keep things cool.As far as gyro"s are concerned, the fuel tanks are the greatest concern. The expansion and contraction during heating and cooling coupled with condensation build up during this process. Best way to avoid this is to keep your tank full. If the container leaks then you will require plenty of airflow. If not then lock it up and don"t worry about it.Regards SamL......................

I am using a 40" high cube as a hangar and it works well.[img][/img] Only problem was it wasn"t quite high enough so I had to cut the top off and add a pitched roof which is good for the ventilation. The top I cut into 5 sheets and made into a bullet proof chook house. If anyone wants pics please let me know as I haven"t worked out how to attach them here yet.enquiries@magnigyro.com.au
