  • Gyro Down - Still Missing

Heard bad news just now of gyro down and missing. Pilot has been able to contact authorities and gave co-ordinates but when they got there, no sign of him or gyro. They are still looking so lets cross fingers he"s ok and they find him soon.

Hello All,Sean Anthony was found today alive and well after a near three day search. He went missing around 1500 local time on Sunday. He had an engine failure and landed amongst trees but the only injury was chemical burn on one hand from the ruptured fuel tank.He walked a distance to get mobile phone coverage and talked to police but the wrong GPS coordinates of his location were given.Shaun apparently got sick of waiting so he started back toward Wiepa (25 Nm"s away) and was found along a road by a passing motorist 7 Nm"s from home, mid morning. The incident report to Allan will be the least of his problems when Leanne gets hold of him. ;D

WOW, What an adventure, was it a 912, if it was, it might remind some people that trust them too much that any engine can fail.Good news that he"s ok.

That great to hear Sean is all OK.This is exactly why we should all invest in an ELT, cheap insurance for such occations.Regards SamL...................

couple of rough nights in the bush. I"m glad Sam is safe. We should all learn a lesson here. PLB are worth their weight in gold and they only fit in your top pocket.

To my knowledge, there arent any local gyros except for mine so its possibly some of the Queensland guys on their way over. If the wind direction & strenght are the same as where I am at the moment, they would be making excellent time !Since Saturday, its been out of the east [approx] at up to 70K"s an hour. : not enjoyable.

Yes,Two guys are fying across from NSW following the Eyre highway. Got stranded in Noresman yesterday due to a failed AMAX belt. Luckey I have one in stock and am sending it to them post haste. it is unlikely I will be back on line now until the Nats finish so if anyone has any questions the old mob is the only way.See you at the nationals!Adrian0427094552

if you read "NEW IDEA " magazine this month SEAN has a great article about his bingle. also that the money from the story was being donated to the local s.e.s. in appreciation for there search efforts, quite a good idea when you think about it. and very good to here sean has come out of it with only a few scratches.
