Beware of not very bright scammers looking to sell stuff asking you to make payments through Western Union. I had a reply to the post I made looking for three R22 cabs , made by someone calling themselves Bryan Pappas

Ours was from KenWillis@gmail.com wanting us to send $2,500 through Western Union to UK for the transport!! We didn"t get caught either. Phew!!! Apparently A Current Affair did a story on this type of scam about a week ago.The PayPal site they send you to is NOT a genuine PayPal site.I have researched other"s experiences on Forums, and the money all goes to the same address, just different names and email addresses:Address: 5 tookey close,City: Harrow , State: Middlesex,Country: United Kingdom,Zip Code:Ha3 9ufSo beware!!

There are a heap of them around when you are using the internet. You can report them all you like but nothing is ever done offically. Just stick to the tried and true "if it looks to good to be true then is most likely is"Bones and I have fun wasting their time like they do others ... bout all you can do

Had a mate who fell for the exactly same thing as the caravan thing. I wonder if it was the same scammer. A woman who separated from her husband was selling his near new hilux for about $15000. It was located in Darwin and she was from the UK.You can report them and there are some that get prosecuted but sadly the new scams are being created faster than they are detected and will always burn someone before it is realised it is a scam. In my job I would get about 1 report every 2 weeks from someone that was ripped off either from a Nigerian email or the new one which is a letter from an unknown overseas lawyer saying some relative has died and left you millions of dollars. all you need to do is give your bank details. That one gets a lot of people.Itentity thieves are everywhere, all they need to do is get a copy of your birth certificate you medicare card number and a bank statement. This is all the ID you need to get a drivers licence. That person then has a licence in your name with their photo. THey then go for personal loans through the bank with this ID and don"t pay it. THe bank then chases you and your life and credit history is stuffed. THis was a big thing with the bikie gangs last year. They only need to get into your house and into the filing cabinet, then a quick rummage through the bin. This happens to hundreds of people a year. So long story short if you have been broken into, and nothing seems to have been stolen, check the filing cabinet. Smart thieves only target this and it may be months if ever that you realise it is gone.
