While its not uncommon to see women /girls in the workforce doing stuff that that used to be a near mens only, I was more than a little surprised to see a B double we had ordered to pick up a load of goats bound for the meat works had a female driver and reasonably young at that. Thought to meself, this could be interesting as to back in to the loading ramp can be challenging after seeing a few very expereinced guys have a bit of trouble getting in. Well, in just 2 go"s she"s got that B double in perfectly straight AND

For those following this thread, Kate was back yesterday for another load and again, it was a very pleasant experience......to see someone back that B dub from a position 90 * from where she pulled up was something to behold and the truck was straight with the loading ramp!! Just wish all truckies could manage their trucks half as good!!!

brian , i hope she stays for many more loads and isn"t enticed off to the mines. i"ve always found that women working in a male dominated industry work like they have something to prove. usually just their consistancy puts them ahead of the male workers. the 2 ladies in our work office can talk their way around steel and electric motors and gearboxes, anything going and to listen to them talking worhshop stuff just makes me

We certainly hope to see her back again for the next load too.I have had girls working in the shearing shed & they are light years ahead of the men, do a much better job & enjoy working & I would be happy to have an all girl crew except we dont do much shearing now.Used to put out around 270 bales a year & now put out around 20 ! Wont be long & the shed will be quiet all year round except for the odd party.
