  • Roast Dinner

Just finished a lovely lamb roast ! :P We kill our own meat so I can guarantee the Dorper lamb is just that in prime condition. My daughter was arriving for a few days and Rosie thought it time for a roast as we havent had lamb for a while cause the freezer had quite a bit of beef & pig that needed to be cleaned up other wise meat can get a bit old. Plus I got industrious the other day & had killed three lambs"Decided to use the Weber as Rosie was busy cooking Christmas cakes etc in the stove and with a 45 minutes to go we stuck in the potatoes Rosie is growing in the vegy patch and are they are so much different to the super market spuds you couldnt imagine !! Anyway, Rosie likes to cook the vegys in a dry pan but I dint drain all the fat [ from the cooking Dorper] so everything cooked in a little bit of fat and were they beautiful !!! Nice and caramelized and lovely & soft without being too soft !

The quality of Aussie lamb at the moment is excellent. I grow my own spuds from time to time and agree that they just don"t get any better than garden grown. The last person who told me he could not afford lamb was sitting in a sea of beer bottles and it was clear to me why he was not very flush with money. We have 2 lamb roasts in the fridge and after your post it will be one less tomorrow. Thanks for the suggestion. I"m drooling already. :P ;D

well i really am happy for you all. ;D ;D. i don"t have any sense of taste or smell. so just to keep it all simple i eat the same run of my cooking until it"s finished. to me food is just a way of staying alive. i see and hear others talking about the same. family or friends ask, was my meal nice and i say "yes". how do you know they used to ask?
