  • Pre Cleaners & Do They Work ??

Its always a bit of a gamble buying stuff on the strenght of the products own advertising and I agonized over buying this product for some time mainly cause it wasnt cheap but eventualy bit the bullet & bought not one but two Tubo 11 air pre cleaners, one for the grader & the other for the loader...guess if you are going to buy the advertising, you may as well jump right in the deep end .I havent had anything to directly compare pre cleaners with until lately when I have been working alongside a Komatsu WA 380 - 5 about a 2007 model. Anyway, been working away for four days & my mate calls up & says he"s just cleaned his air cleaner as the warning light came on & perhaps I should check mine......good idea I reckon as I have not got a warning light on mine......well, it did have one time some time ago. Pull the element out & to my surprise, its in pretty good order...could do with a clean but not critical though. My mate said his was so full of dirt that the element was really heavy & he nearly lost his grip on it as he removed it.I wouldnt say the Komatsu"s pre cleaner looks overly impressive but I reckon the Turbo 11"s blurb was spot on & its worth all the hard earned cash paid for it & I would recommend it for all gyros

They use them on turbines, I think they"re call inertial separators and I think they was a bit of energy getting the air to follow their path.

They do work! I used to drive dozers, some had just the plastic bowl on top of the air filter. Then a bloke I was driving his 8h decided to put 1 on. Made a big difference, instead of blowing it out twice a day pushing out fire heaps,we just had to do it once.Fire heaps are as dusty as you can get.

It"s a wonder dyson hasn"t invented a super duper pre cleaner, probably wouldn"t need a air filter at all.
