  • Les Edgerton RIP

It is with a heavy heart I would like to inform you all, Les has passed away. His battle with cancer defeated him. Les was supported by his beautiful wife Pat, and their children. Les"s funeral is this coming Wednesday at " Blacks " Innisfail, 10am.Les and Pat were the driving force for gyros, especially for Qld, beginning way back in the 70"s. Les was a cane farmer, cane farmers are renown for building "things" ......look butt ugly, but they bloody worked. Les and Pat would travel all over Oz, gyro in tow. He would never take the blades off, spent hrs and hrs getting them silky smooth, would not risk upsetting the apple cart, by dismantling them. Hence travelled everywhere with the blades mounted, supported by bloody great arm things each end.Les, Bob Higgins, Bert Larkin, jim Roy just to name a few, all good mates to each other, all now gone. All way back in those days fought tooth and nail encouraging folks to get into gyros. Some wonderful stories there, yet to be told. Thanks Les, for your friendship, going way back to those times, to now......cheers mate
