Bendix engagement

I only have starter motor pre-rotator.
When the rotor got up in speed, would it not force the bendix down (that is, if for some reason the bendix would not disengage normally)

Is anyone aware of a bendix ever getting stuck in the engaged position and the affect it would or did have on rotor rpm?
