Hi, I'm in the process of organising a some interviews for the magazine, Andy Keech (latest gyro world record chaser) has agreed to do something for the next issue, I'm open to suggestions for other "Personalities" . I'll do all the chasing and paperwork but some other ideas would be good. There is still plenty of time to write something for the summer edition and I definately need all the help I can get.cheers,Art

Art,I can see that you use the forum. There are lots of members who don't use it, either because they are not computer literate or because they don't have the time or terminal access when they do have the time. There are lots of people who have contributed technical information, with pictures and some others who have posted a few sentences and some terrific flying pictures. All on the forum. You could use those subjects in the magazine. If you contact the posters for quality pictures and perhaps more details of the technical posts you will get good content and be doing a large percentage of ASRA members a favour. I don't think you can be like Pacific Flyer and just sit back and let people supply you with articles, you're going to have to be a reporter, researcher, journalist!Regards, Fish.

I have to say Allen, you are quite correct. The advantage of this forum is to have experiences and souceful information available to us from the keyboard however, the distribution of 600 copies of the magazine caters for mostly members and some subscribers. As I stated at the last board meeting, there is enormous potential for the magazine on a commercial basis. I am sure the possibilities are there but as pointed out, ASRA are not in a position to support such a venture.

Thanks for the help guys, I haven't had the chance to call and say Hi yet Barry but I'm understanding how much effort you must have put in to the magazine so far. I really appreciate it from a readers point of view and hope to continue to keep it interesting and informative from the other side.I'm a big fan of Ken Wallis so I'll try and contact him for an interview as well, I know a couple of our English brothers that keep in close contact with him so its worth a try. Also writing to Dr Bruce Charnov tonight to order his book and try for an interview at the same time.....cheers and thanks again Barry,Art...Art Spink...

I'll suggest that you may interview some of the wives of flying members and get their view of their interest and commitment.Over a period of time you may even be able to create a women'ssection in the Magazine, by women for women. They must go to the flyins and meeting so surely they have thoughtsabout it all ?Just an idea.Robert DunnMackay. Qld.Growing old is good while it lasts.
