  • Purchasing a Gyro (not new)

Hi,Well after much thought (and frustration with my trike not being able to fly because there is no hangar space here) I am going to sell up and buy a Gyro (+ some training!).With trikes, you got your Aussie types and models, some English like mine and that"s about it really. So what about for Gyro"s?I know at the top end you have MT-O3 and some other but I"m looking down the other end of the scale (below $17,000).My question is... how do you know what you are buying? A well designed, tested manufacturer built unit or a mix/match copied from a copy etc? Are there any particular brand names?I have to admit I am still a little worried about my decision because of "all the stories in the past". But I get reassurance from the fact that those days are over since the implementation of horizontal stabilisers to reduce chances of PIO etc. But what about the designs? Tall ones, low ones, gyros with above/below CTL? How can you tell and which is the safest one?Almost every gyro I see looks different. Are there any Australian manufacturer"s for gyro"s here?Anyway, that"s an awful lot of questions. I"ll end here to see what you guys think.Regards,Azhar

Azhar, i dont know were you are, but if you can make your way to the nationals this easter youll get more info than you can absorb. Youll see all sorts of configurations and designes, most of which can or are production typs that have their own mods built in.No dout there will be one or two for sale as well.[ i"ll take you for a blap in me wasa if you like. ]

Don"t know much about them, but I believe Rob Patroney can convert trikes to gyros. It may be another solution for you.
