They all look the same on a plate! But they don"t all taste the same. Our black baldy"s were the best I have eaten.I don"t much go for this fancy grain lot feed stuff, might be tender but no taste. Then again it is hard to beat a good wild pig turned into homemade Italian snags.Graeme.

You"re right Ken,They do all look the same on the plate, but looking at Birdudes cows in the yards, well, they look a little more "athletic" in thier movements than mine do! ;DMark.

Grass fed are the way to go, plenty of flavour. If we knew what those supposedly grain fed cattle were actually being fed, their popularity would drop big time.

"chops"I heard on the ABC yesterday that some of the Jap abatiors are putting off some of their contract workers, one of the spinoffs is that they are going to reduce costs by processing Grass fed cattle instead of the feedlot variety.wouldnt it be a surprise to the consumer, to be able to get their hands on a product with some flavour?could be something good to come out of the financial whoha

Thats interesting Mark although I guess, not surprising as the Japanese as well as other countries are busily buying up good pastoral properties. It will be interesting to see how they go with consistency as thats why feedlots are so popular with processors. There is always changes happening and it would be great to see producers being re warded for their efforts.
